Parents and Friends' Association
The Parents and Friends' Association is involved in a range of activities that assist in the community dimension of our Mission Statement. Organisation of the Year 11 Debutante Ball each year is a major activity for which the committee is responsible. Fundraising activities have helped provide valuable facilities and equipment for the school such as computers, sports equipment, refurbishment of classrooms and the computer hub, classroom conditioners, library books, the Centenary bronze mural, musical instruments and much more.
Parents and Friends also make available a number of scholarships which are presented at our Night of Excellence in December. A second hand uniform shop is also a valuable service provided by this group which greatly assists families. Parents and Friends volunteers are also willing helpers on important days of celebration within the school such as Open Day, Mercy Day and Athletics Carnival and other functions where they provide refreshments for visitors, students and staff.
The Organisational Skills program has been running for more than 10 years and is reliant on parents who give of their time each week to encourage students to develop problem solving skills especially as it relates to time management, setting priorities and working to a deadline.
