Mark Evans

Year of Induction 2014

YEARS OF SERVICE — 1988 TO 1999

Mark Evans was a very well respected staff member from 1988 to June 1999. During his time at MLMC he was known for his drive, enthusiasm, love of work and his professionalism and work ethic. Mark introduced the Year 9 Challenge, which required students to function as a team, be hard working, have a sense of humour, have a sense of fun, do good deeds and perform acts of compassion - all traits which epitomise Mark’s approach to life. Mark left teaching for the “passion, excitement and community feeling” of being involved in football. He has been involved at various clubs in the VFA and AFL. In 2013, he was appointed the AFL’s general manager of football operations and in early 2017 became chief executive of the Gold Coast Suns AFL club.
