YEARS OF SERVICE — 1976 TO 1989

Sr Beth Calthorpe RSM Sr Beth was Principal of Mount Lilydale Mercy College for 14 years (1976-1989) during a period of enormous growth in enrolments and facilities. Much of the current structure of the College reflects the vision and energy of Sr Beth. She was also instrumental in the introduction of boys to the College and the school moving forward as a co-educational facility. Staff who worked closely with Sr Beth tell of the privilege they felt in experiencing and appreciating her great talents, her practicality, her humour, warmth and gratitude. After leaving Lilydale, Sr Beth was Principal at other Mercy schools and she remains heavily involved in the leadership of Catholic education.
