Mercy Honour Role Inductee

Kath Tricarico (dec.)

Year of Induction 2017

YEARS OF SERVICE — 1970 TO 2000

Kath Tricarico (dec.) was described when she passed away in May 2016 as “a matriarch within the College”. She entered the MLMC community when her daughter began Grade 5/6 in 1970 and Kath started helping with canteen duties. She soon became a member of the Ladies’ Auxiliary and in 1974 became its President, and was in charge of the canteens in 1980. She showed great leadership and resilience but, most of all, her strong Christian Ethics truly showed through.

Her beliefs were exemplified by her statement in a 1974 College Newsletter: “Only by faith, support, unity and working together can we achieve goals (to introduce co-education) thereby helping the wonderful nuns and teachers, who are giving so much of themselves thus enabling our daughters, and next year (1975) our sons, to enjoy a truly Christian education and belong to a school to be proud of.” Kath inspired many working towards this goal, even today.

Her 30 years of loving and generous service, often going above the call of duty, served to enrich faith, love, and charity and academia throughout the College community and is a testimony to her strong Mercy Ethos.
