Monica Lawson (dec.) (nee Carolan) was nominated in recognition of her leadership as the inaugural president of the Old Collegians’ Football Club as well as the courage and character she showed when confronting terminal illness. Monica was Club President for seven years and at the time was the only female Club President in the Victorian Amateur Football Association (VAFA). Monica wrote a children’s book Through Zoe's Eyes on her experience with cancer to provide guidance for families seeking to explain parental loss. Monica attended the College in the late 1970s and early 1980s and her daughter Zoe graduated from the College in 2017.
