Patricia Olson

1978-present

Patricia has been a distinguished staff member who has inspired both staff and students at MLMC for 43 years. Her time as College Registrar enabled her to initiate and consolidate links between the College and new generations of students and the local communities they came from. In 2011, Patricia founded and was the Executive Officer of the MLMC Old Collegians’ Association, created to connect, celebrate and support past alumni in creating meaningful relationships within the MLMC community.

She has been a pillar in establishing many of the events, awards and practices still celebrated today. These include establishing the Glenys Heath Award which recognises and celebrates leadership, courage, creativity and strength through adversity and is awarded annually to a Year 12 student. Patricia also helped to establish the Frayne Speech Festival which has grown into an annual event hosted by Mercy Schools Victoria wide.

Patricia has been the Chief Archivist at the College overseeing the preservation of documents, photographs and memorabilia to conserve the history of the College and share it with future generations. She has also been an active member of various committees including Mercy Day, Creative Arts, Debutante Balls, the College Centenary Celebrations and most recently the 125 Years committee.

Patricia has demonstrated her incredible leadership through driving innovative curriculum change, heading the English department, finding resources for students who suffered during the Black Saturday bushfires and creating the Mercy Day parade as well as countless more efforts.
